Technical Writer for Health Benefits Administrator

Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the oversight of the operational implementation of new and renewing ASO member groups within established timelines. 2. Develops and executes written plan amendments to reflect mid-year plan changes and updates plan material as necessary to reflect any changes. Ensures Group’s regulatory compliance with PPACA, HIPAA notices and Benefit Notices. 3. Creates customized plan benefit documents and other membership tools to accurately reflect plan intent. 4. Customizes ASO agreements and contracts, including but not limited to, Phone IT Documents COC and Flexible Spending Accounts/Health Reimbursement Arrangements/Health Savings Account agreements, Retiree Reimbursement Arrangements. 5. Maintains ASO group website document updates and entry of documents onto group’s website 6. Coordinates the development, audit and printing of group ID cards. Effectively interfaces with group contacts, alliance partners, PBM partners, Telehealth and other vendors and brokers/consultants to coordinate benefit and plan information to ensure performance based outcome. 7. Addresses benefit intent inquiries and complaints from internal and external sources ensuring accurate and timely resolution. Participates in the prescription and telehealth vendor installation document updates and ensures all changes accurately reflect the intent of the plan. Coaches ASO decision makers in areas of plan design that do not support/protect plan intent, cost containment, member engagement and affordability. 14. Develops and maintains Member Technical Plan Builder Benefit Specialist P&Ps. 15. Develops training material and conducts internal operational education training regarding plan changes for existing and new groups.

Qualifications / Skills Required

Skills/Abilities/Experience Required in Priority Order with #1 as most important: 1. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills that convey subject matter in a confident, clear and concise manner. 2. Demonstrates the ability to comprehend and clearly explain plan design material, IEBP contracts, vendor agreements, and regulatory state and federal compliance notices impacting the Self-Funded membership. 3. Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects including those requiring deliverables from multiple sources. 4. Advanced experience with office based word software with proven ability to author plan design documents, policies and procedures, correspondence and other benefit related material. 5. Self-motivated with ability to make independent decisions timely and accurately. 6. Experience in working with health benefit plans and/or ancillary benefit products highly desirable. 7. Understanding of claim coding principles and practices highly desirable. eoe
